HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DAM OR POND
Every dam and pond is a different shape, so it is only necessary to get an approximate measurement of the surface area of your dam. You can do this by either taking an estimate of the diameter of your dam as shown below, or the length and width.
It is recommended to allow for more area than you need rather than not enough. If youāre still not sure about how much you need, please contact us for assistance.
USE GOOGLE MAPS
If your pond or dam isnāt a simple square, rectangle or circle, an easy way to estimate the surface area is by using the measuring tool in Google Maps.
On a desktop computer, open Google Maps, find your pond, then right-click on the map and select Measure distance. From there, click around the edge of the pond to trace its shape. Once you return to your starting point and close the outline, Google Maps will calculate the total area for you. You can then enter that area into our DamItā¢ calculator to work out how much product you need.
For the most accurate result, try to trace as close as possible to the normal waterline of the pond. It doesnāt have to be perfect, just aim to follow the overall shape as closely as you can.

Application Process
For best results, ensure the surface is clean and dry. Apply in temperatures between 10Ā°C and 30Ā°C. Use a brush or roller to apply an even coat, working the sealer into all cracks and porous areas. Allow 24 hours between coats for optimal adhesion and performance.
